The original glovebox interior was made from cardboard and had warped and ripped with age. So a new copy was fabricated from wood and metal.
The old glovebox interior was dismantled by drilling out all the rivets.
Then the parts were used as templates to cut new parts.
All the straight sides were made from 4mm plywood for rigidity. All the parts which required folding or bending, were made from 0.5mm aluminium.
Next all the parts were drilled and screwed together. The size was checked against the glove box mounting points in the car.
Filler was used to seal the corners. Then some textured paint was used to give the inside surface a uniform finish.
The glovebox was re-fitted to the dashboard using the original fixings.
